Pilates for Injuries & Rehabilitation

Pilates for injuries

A Fully Integrated Approach

At Mindful Pilates, rehabilitation and injury management form a significant part of what we do. Our instructors hold advanced qualifications and are trained to work with a wide range of conditions: from spinal issues and post-surgical recovery to chronic pain, hypermobility and more. Our studio is fully equipped with the complete range of Pilates apparatus and props to support clients across every condition and stage of recovery.

To ensure safe and effective training, our process starts with a one-to-one assessment. This allows us to evaluate your posture, movement patterns and specific needs. Based on this, we determine whether you can progress into a small group class or if continued individual sessions are recommended for your condition for a certain time.

Conditions We Work With
  • Spinal Conditions: Scoliosis, herniated discs, nerve entrapment and impingement, facet joints
  • Joint Issues: Osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, hypermobility, post-surgical rehabilitation
  • Upper & Lower Body Injuries: Shoulder instability, hip and knee injuries, pelvic imbalances, foot and ankle and hand and wrist issues
  • Neurological conditions: Stroke, Parkinsons, neuropathy
"Claudia was wonderful and knew how to make these exercises simpler for older people like me. I was very scared of Pilates but she was so gentle that I am now happy to continue."

L., age 55 — shoulder impingement

Why our approach is different

Many fitness classes focus on intensity. We focus on movement quality, stability and long-term strength. Our goal isn’t simply to make you tired, it’s to help you move better, feel stronger and build a body that is more resilient to injury.

About Claudia

Claudia has spent years building a skill set that goes far beyond standard Pilates instruction. She holds advanced qualifications in spinal health and scoliosis (including the Scoliosis and Spinal Conditions Master Course), shoulder rehabilitation, hip rehabilitation and pre and postnatal Pilates. She has completed the Injury and Special Populations course and continued education in biomechanics and corrective exercise. She doesn’t just teach Pilates. She understands how the body is moving and how to build a programme that addresses the root cause rather than just the symptom.
